Spectrum Theatre in 2012

Posted on Updated on

If the world is going to end, we’re going out with a bang.

Starting off our spring season is our highly anticipated appearance at the UVA winter activities fair. That’s right, fabulous members of the Spectrum cast and crew will be in the Newcomb Hall Ballroom on January 24th from 11am to 2pm just itching to answer any and all questions YOU may have.

Following closely, V-Day 2012: The Vagina Monologues at UVA will be performed in February. Directed by the passionate and talented Mia Logan, it is sure to be an event to remember. Keep an eye out for more information. Auditions will be held in mid-January. More information will be posted online and around grounds.

You can mark your calender for Avenue Q the weekend of April 26th-29th! Directed by Michael Vasquez, a brilliantly talented puppeteer and performer, the show is sure to be a crowd pleaser. We will be performing in the Student Activities Building. The artistic staff has been picked and is raring to go. Auditions will also be held early in the semester.

As always, if you are interested in being involved with Spectrum Theatre, any time is a good time to join. With auditions coming up, there are plenty of opportunities for the acting-minded Wahoo. If you are more comfortable behind the scenes, we can always use help on the crew. (Of the nine shows I’ve done with Spectrum Theatre, I’ve done lights for six of them. It is someone else’s turn!) If you’ve never done theater before but want to hang out with a bunch of quirky yet talented folks who enjoy Chinese food, long walks on the beach and humor, look no further! We always need help with publicity and want to help find a spot for you.

Start brewing some coffee; it’s going to be a wild semester.

Can’t wait,
Katie Ryan
Executive Producer
